The Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement RRR Engr Mustapha Gubio accompanied by Hon (Dr) Mairo Mandara Special Adviser and Coordinator Humanitarian Activities to Borno State Governor, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo Chairperson BOSEMA and State Coordinator MCRP Hon Babazanna Abdulkarim were in Auno today 10th August 2020 to resettle Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) , who were displaced since April 2020 after series of attacked by Boko Haram.
It could be recalled that on 9th Febuary 2020, Auno Communities had faced series of attacked which led to the death of over 80 persons, houses destroyed and properties worth millions of Naira where destroyed and chatted away. The Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum visited the scene of attacked and assured the victims prompted attention.
Professor Babagana Umara Zulum during his visit to the Bank of Industry headquarters in Abuja accompanied by Dr Mairo Mandara secured the funding of rebuilding the destroyed buildings and construction of New Housing Units to Auno Community.
Professor Zulum directed the Ministry of Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RRR) to swing into action and resettle the community. The Honourable Commissioner Engr Mustapha Gubio completed the reconstruction and building of housing units and commence the resettlement today.
Dr Mairo Mandara while presenting the allocation to the beneficiaries of the newly construction houses said skill aquisition programme will be given to Women and Children, urged them to be self reliance and focused on their farming activities.
Engr Mustapha Gubio and the team also proceeded to inspect an ongoing construction of vocational training for Construction and soft skills centre supported by Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi Foundation in Auno Community along Maiduguri-Damaturu Road. The project is almost 95% Completion, which consists of different vocational training skills aquisition in building construction basically for females.
